Dr. Candice Jones is a compassionate pediatrician serving in our community. She provides professional medical care for babies all the way through to adulthood, along with being there for mothers and answering all of their inquisitive questions.
What do you enjoy about your job?
I really enjoy connecting with families and being a part of their children growing up from newborns to teens.
Why are you supporting Strong Beautiful Future?
Every mother and baby deserves a strong, beautiful future. Higher rates of maternal deaths and infant mortality plague communities of color. The Strong Beautiful Future campaign seeks to raise awareness, educate, and empower Black women to have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby.
What is one fun or interesting thing about yourself?
I’m a foodie and love sci-fi movies/TV shows. On weekends, I look forward to mornings in my pajamas with my family-hubby and two kids:-)
Is there anything else people might be interested to know about you?
I have a passion for serving in underserved communities. In 2018, I was awarded the Individual Health Empowerment Award by the Central Florida Urban League and the Public Health Hero Award by the Florida Department of Health Orange County. I also love being a health media expert. I am an American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Spokesperson and a frequent guest on local radio, on-air TV, and in print covering kid health topics.
